pen 54: uni-ball jetstream 101 1.0

the pen today is the uni-ball jetstream 101. this is a pretty basic pen on the lower end of the price range. these are going on amazon for $6 for a package of five pens, and a dozen will set you back $14 at staples. you can also find these pens at most grocery and drugstores. the tip is 1mm. which is their version of bold, they also boast a reservoir full of what they call "super ink," which isn't ink that can emerge from a phone booth in blue tights and a red cape... wait, when was the last time you saw a phone booth? seriously, where the hell is clark kent changing into superman these days? meh.
so yeah, super ink which is "specially-formulated to become trapped in paper, helping prevent criminal check washing and other document alteration."
this pen is pretty basic, it is available in red, blue and black, has a pretty good glide, the ink does dry quickly so smudging isn't really an issue, it's clean, the ink doesn't build up on the tip, it's covered in a soft, velvety  rubber or plastic for comfort and claims: "Unparalleled smoothness and effortless writing." i'm not all that convinced on that last one but whatever, these pens are pretty cheap, they last for ages, lay down a good range of values depending on pressure and will ink over pencils with little effort.

just an average pen, nothing more, nothing less.

An average pen is better than a really craptacular pen, right?

Clark doesn't need the phone booths anymore. He changes right in the open. Seriously- everyone's perpetually glued to their electronic devices, no one notices.

Have you been in a Starbucks lately? All you see are noses glued to mobile screens as they stand and wait.

Dr. David (or Bruce, depending on your preference) could "become angry" these days without fear of detection in public. It's equal opportunity for super hereos everywhere.
